Pineal Gland

Pineal gland is a small endocrine gland located near the centre of the brain, between the two hemisphere and between thalamic bodies. Pineal gland secrete a hormone named melatonin which affects the modulation of sleep/wake patterns and seasonal functions. Though rare, tumors can arise from pineal gland. Patients may feel headache, nausea, visual changes, double vision and some may experience early onset of puberty due to abnormal hormone excretion.
